"When I arrived in Colorado two decades ago to play for the Denver Broncos, I never would've imagined that the most impactful moments I'd have were off the field serving my community. I'm thankful for the opportunity to give back, help causes that matter in our world, and connect with those passionate about them."
Nate Jackson grew up in San Jose, California, the son of two school teachers. He was a multi-sport athlete at Pioneer High School and became an All-American wide receiver at neighboring Menlo College, after which he was signed as a free agent to the San Francisco 49ers. The next summer, he was traded to the Denver Broncos and spent six seasons as a wide receiver and tight-end playing for Coach Mike Shanahan.
When his football career ended in 2009, he began his career as an author. He wrote a New York Times Bestselling book called "Slow Getting Up", which was based on his experiences in the NFL. His writing has also appeared in the Time Magazine, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, New York Times and The Atlantic. He was a consultant on the Ridley Scott film "Concussion" and has performed stand-up comedy in various Los Angeles comedy clubs. In 2020, he became a radio host at 104.3 The Fan in Denver, where he currently co-hosts the mid-morning radio show The Player's Club.
Nate is married and has a 3 year old son. In all of Nate's years as a football player, he has never met a more loyal supporter than his lovely wife, or a fiercer opponent than his little boy.
